What is Cloud Surveillance?
Safety
No video surveillance storage device (DVR) on the customer premises. The video is stored remotely on a network video recorder (NVR). If the NVR is located on the public Internet, it is considered cloud storage or cloud based video surveillance.
Universal Access
Universal access via the Internet. Once the video is stored in the cloud, it can be easily accessed from any computer or mobile device connected to the Internet from anywhere in the world.
Subscription Based Service Model
Unlike local DVRs, cloud based video surveillance is a shared platform which does not require upfront capital expenditure.
Service Provider Managed
No IT expertise need by customer to use cloud based video surveillance. Typically white glove services are offered by service providers to accommodate customer’s needs in case technical support and video retrieval assistance is desired.
Unlimited and Reliable Storage
DVRs typically have 1 or 2 disk drives without redundancy. Service providers can add unlimited amounts of additional storage capacity on demand with a cloud storage solution. Also, cloud storage provides redundancy in case of disk failures.

How it Works
Components
Cameras
Customers can either use existing analog cameras or they can order and install new ones. There are many different types, sizes, quality, and price points for these analog cameras. They can be purchased from any security store, online supplier, or directly from us. See the Cameras page on our web site for more details on the different camera options. After they are purchased, we can provide a professional installation services at reasonable fees.
Encoders
Each T-400 encoder can connect up to 4 analog video cameras using BNC connectors. The T-400 encoders take the analog video signals and encode them into digital images using the JPEG 2000 encoding technique. The encoders mark each image with a timestamp and a digital watermark that can only be authenticated by us; this makes the video tamper- proof. The digitized video is transmitted from the T-400 at the customer premise over the high speed Internet connection and deposited into our video storage vault. For highly secure or sensitive video, this transmission across the public Internet can be upgraded to an encrypted video stream to prevent anyone from intercepting and viewing the video.
Internet
There must be a high speed Internet connection at the customer site. It can be from any Internet service provider including us. If there is no existing high speed Internet service, it can be ordered through us. Visit our web site for more details on the Internet connection requirements. Alternatively, our customer care center is a phone call away for assistance on this issue.
Storage
Our IVS service safely stores your video images in a secure centralized storage vault. This insures against loss of video due to fire, smoke, floods, destruction and theft. No costly or hard to maintain local VCR or DVR is required on your premises to store video. The customer does not have to manage any equipment since we provides a fully managed service. In addition, the customer’s video streams can be safely backed up and designed to be accessible even during a natural disaster (ie, hurricane, tornado, earthquake, etc). Our state-of-the-art storage facilities offer Fortune 500 class IT services to all consumers and businesses.
Retrieval
Cameras
Customers can either use existing analog cameras or they can order and install new ones. Customers may retrieve their stored video 7×24 via the Internet. Any standard Web browser may be used to view stored video. Customers may request a selected video segment to be archived for future retrieval, stored on their local hard disk, copied to a CD or emailed to any destination desired.
We also offer a white glove service for those customers who don’t have an Internet connected PC or dont have staff that are trained/authorized to retrieve the video. By calling the our Customer Care Center, a customer can request the needed video and it can be delivered by any method desired.
